"The Best Dressed" Black Raspberry is cholesterol free and may be used much the same as the Herb Vinaigrette giving a hint of fruit to your dish.

INGREDIENTS: A special blend of Canola oil, red wine vinegar (naturally-occuring sulphites), black raspberry syrup (sugar, water, citric acid, karaya gum, natural and artificial flavours, potassium sorbate, colour, sodium benzoate), fresh garlic, mustard seasonings and spices.

Starting with a base of cut up Romaine and your choice of organic (sometimes referred to as "spring mix" or "mesclun") leaves, such as arugula, frisee, radicchio or red leaf, you can add any fruit you prefer. While the greens can be prepared ahead of time, it is best to wait until just before serving to add the well-drained fruit. Ideal fruits are sliced strawberries, Mandarin oranges, blueberries, raspberries or apple. Sliced almonds (raw or toasted), sesame seeds, pecans, walnuts or pine nuts also work well with this type of salad. Sometimes I also toss in the (skinny) salad type of dry Chinese noodles for a little extra crunch. Once youve combined all ingredients of your choice, pour the desired amount of "The Best Dressed" Black Raspberry dressing and serve immediately.


For a tasty alternative to the traditional pasta salad try using "The Best Dresed" Black Raspberry dressing. Prepare "short" pasta such as penne or fusilli as per the directions on the package and let cool. Use your choice of fruits (i.e. Mandarin oranges drained, red/green seedless grapes halved, raisins, melons balls) together with your choice of sliced or slivered almonds, pine nuts or pecans, etc. Shake "The Best Dressed" Black Raspberry dressing well and pour enough to coat mixture of fruit, pasta and nuts. Allow to stand, preferably refrigerated, for about 1 hour. Just before serving add a touch more dressing, toss and serve.


As with our other dressings, "The Best Dressed" Black Raspberry can be used as a marinade. To add a slight sweetness to your meat or poultry, marinate for 3-4 hours. For fish, marinate about 1 hour. NEVER re-use dressings or marinades for another purpose after marinating!
